But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Most people study the fruit of the Spirit as if they must struggle to develop these qualities in their lives. They use the Bible to learn the secret to gaining mastery over their lives.
It’s not the fruit of _____ (insert name). It’s the fruit of the Spirit. God produces fruit in your life when you remain connected to the vine (John 15:5). We don’t need to struggle to produce character changes in our lives any more than a pear must struggle to grow.
Developing Christ-like character isn’t the result of great effort; it’s the result of resting in His work in your life.
