For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being.
Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling.
When I used to have panic attacks, I learned to pray, “Lord, I thank you that you are with me and this feeling is temporary. My life and health are in your hands.” This simple prayer helps me relax, despite crushing fear. Even now, when I have an asthma attack, I pray this prayer, adding, “If this is my last breath, I’ll see you in a couple minutes.” That bit of humor helps me, too. Whether I live or die is really up to God so I don’t need to fight it and fear it. No one will die a day before God says so. He is in control. I can rest in him.
