This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Here’s another mind-blowing truth: When we believe in Christ, we become a new person. Our old life is gone. God gives us a new life in Christ. That’s amazing!
People often talk about the Christian life as if the Bible offers a self-improvement plan. This perspective puts all the pressure on us to improve our lives as if we need to be “good enough” for God. We want to take credit for making ourselves better.
No, God isn’t interested in a self-improvement plan. He offers a self-replacement plan. He exchanges our old self for a new life. He changes us from the inside out. We can’t take credit for the work God does in us!
