I’m pleased to introduce my new devotional book, Chosen: A 31-Day Christmas Devotional. As I worked on these devotional messages, I found myself moved by some truths I have struggled with over the years. I hope you’ll feel the same way when you read them. Instead of telling you about the devotional, I want you to experience it for yourself. Enjoy a couple of samples from the book.     Chosen: A 31-Day Christmas Devotional Available in paperback, Kindle, or ePub (Kobo, B&N, Apple, and others).             December 3: Well, That’s Awkward Scripture This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. You Can Hear from God Daily (Don’t Let Tim Challies or Anyone Else Tell You Otherwise)

In my Christian experience, I started listening and hearing from God on a regular basis. Then some Christians told me it was somehow wrong so I stopped. For the rest of us, we can engage God with our hearts and let the rhema of God, the spoken word of God, direct our lives so we become conformed to the image of Christ. The rhema of God doesn’t make us neglect the logos of God,...

He led me out to the ballroom floor and we began to dance, effortlessly, fluidly, as one. I didn’t know the steps to the dance but I intuitively knew how to follow his lead. He was graceful and supportive as we seemed to float across the dance floor. When I woke, I almost sensed God whisper, “Will you dance with me?” and immediately Matthew 11:29-30 came to mind, where Jesus invited us to dance, in a sense: “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” That’s a whole new perspective on being yoked to Jesus. A yoke is intended to lead and train but we aren’t familiar with that concept so the thought of being yoked to someone conjures...
