The writings of K.P. Yohannan always resonate with my heart. I can read them over and over and still find gems of truth I need to make real in my life. That They All May Be One is a short book on conflict among Christians. The world is watching how we treat them and how we treat each other. Christians have a reputation for killing their wounded and today’s social and political climate has made people more combative than ever.
The answer is love.
When we love people we don’t like, it demonstrates Christ’s control over our lives. It doesn’t matter whether we agree with someone; we are still to express the love of Christ to him or her. This message is needed now more than ever and I encourage Christians to read That They All May Be One.
To prepare them for the enormous task ahead, He simply left this powerful statement: “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35, NIV, emphasis mine).
What is disunity except the lack of love? When we recognize the importance that Jesus placed upon loving one another above all else, and we begin to walk in obedience to His command, nothing will be able to hinder us from seeing the kingdom of God come in our generation!
