Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892)
Charles Spurgeon was one of the greatest preachers of the 19th century. He would have been considered a mega-church pastor in his day, drawing crowds of thousands, but he was a simple man, devoted to prayer and God’s Word.
Ever since I read Spurgeon: A New Biography in seminary, I’ve been a fan of Charles Spurgeon. There’s something about the way he views the Christian life that resonates with me. It’s simple. Stripped of pretense. His words always drip of truth and a fresh perspective.
While I’m engaged in 40 days of prayer, I thought I’d peruse some books for inspiring tidbits on prayer. These are a few prayer quotes I found from the free eBook, Spurgeon Gems.
