Have you struggled to memorize Bible verses? I have! It feels like boring repetition wrapped in a sense of repeated failure. Can I get an amen? We’ve all been there! It’s not just you.
I quit memorizing verses, but I noticed over time that I was still learning verses without trying. Instead of cramming a verse into my head, I was letting a verse get into my heart. By getting a verse in my heart, it was naturally recalled by my head.
This Bible Memory Journal is not about perfection. It’s about spending one week meditating on a verse to let it soak into the pores of your being.
You’ll be surprised how much you’ll retain when you focus on absorbing the meaning rather than rote repetition. Take the pressure off yourself. Put your focus on Scripture and not on your effort. It’s really freeing. And the results will surprise you!
Each day you’ll write out the verse at least once and spend a few minutes responding to a journal prompt to help you think about the verse you are learning. Of course, if you’d rather grunt your way through the meaningless repetition method, go ahead. Either way, I hope this Bible Memory Journal will enhance your experience with God’s word this week.
